Tappan Zee Alum Nancy Varughese Named Tennis All-HVIAC
The College of New Rochelle senior Nancy Varughese has been named Tennis All-HVIAC for the second time.
The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Conference announced the members of the 2014 All-Conference Tennis Team Saturday following the HVIAC Championships. Senior Nancy Varughese (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) was honored for her excellent play throughout the season.
Varughese earns All-Conference for the second consecutive season, splitting time between #1 and #2 singles as well as #1 and #2 doubles. The senior earned three conference wins this season, tying for first on the team. She enjoyed a career day against St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn picking up a big 10-1 win at #2 singles and her second win of the day at #2 singles 8-5 to help lead the Blue Angels to a 5-4 victory over the Lady Bears.
