Wintry Mix Of Rain, Snow, Sleet Heads To The Hudson Valley
Some communities could see up to an inch of snow and sleet accumulate.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Snow and sleet are expected Wednesday night but warm temperatures in the region will cause a changeover to rain by the end of the storm. This has been the weather pattern all winter, which the folks at Hudson Valley Weather said "has us feeling like Bill Murray in the movie Groundhog Day!"
The National Weather Service predicts the storm in the mid-Hudson Valley will start with moderate to heavy snow, change to sleet, then to rain. Some communities could see an inch of snow and sleet accumulate. Temperatures will be in the lower 30s overnight and in the 40s on Thursday.
While the wintry mix will be mostly rain mixed with snow or sleet, residents of Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties could see up to 1 inch of snow and sleet accumulating overnight. Temperatures will be in the mid 30s overnight and in the upper 40s on Thursday, 8-10 degrees above normal, the NWS predicts.

"The airmass in place is only marginally cold and it does not have a source of high pressure close by to help supply fresh cold air," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "With the storm tracking to our west the warmer air is uncontested in its mission to root out cold air and shatter the hopes of snow lovers once again."
Here's the hourly forecast from the National Weather Service. Note how temps take a dive two days from now.
