Beacon Man Arrested Downriver On Drug, Driving Charges

Police who stopped him on Route 9 allege he had 25 grams of cocaine with him.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — A Beacon man is accused of bringing drugs downriver to sell. New York State police said they stopped a car on Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson at 1:15 a.m. Saturday for violations of the vehicle and traffic laws.

They concluded that he was intoxicated, and a search turned up 25.2 grams of cocaine, they said.

Daniel R. Usher, 31, faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with Intent to Sell, both class B felonies, and Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.

Usher was arraigned virtually before the town of Cortlandt Court and released on his own recognizance.
