Black Cow Coffee Company Named Local Hero

When Hurricane Sandy knocked out the power in Croton-on-Hudson for days on end, The Black Cow Coffee Company was there to save the day offering local residents a comfortable lit place to stay and get a nosh and cup of Joe.

The editors of Westchester Magazine chose Croton-on-Hudson’s The Black Cow Coffee Company as a Local Hero on its “Best of Westchester 2013” list.

The coffeehouse at 4 Old Post Rd. in Croton-on-Hudson, which got its power back two days after Sandy hit, was lauded for “providing shelter in a storm.” Owner Michael Grant, allowed patrons to stay and hang out, while they charged their phones and other devices.
