Clearwater Festival Announces Lineup For 2019

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — The Great Hudson River Revival, also known as the Clearwater Festival, has announced the final lineup and daily schedule for the annual event. The festival is returning to Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson June 15-16.

This year, the country's oldest and largest music and environmental festival will celebrate the 100th birthday of its founder Pete Seeger, as well as the 50th anniversary of the sloop Clearwater, which Seeger built to advocate the clean up of the Hudson River.

In addition to previously announced artists, such as headliners Mavis Staples and Ani DeFranco, The Wailers and Railroad Earth, the line-up will also include De McCoury Band, Chapin McCombs Chapin, Late Show's Gospel Choir, Ramapo Spirit of the Mountain Drummers, Walkabout Clearwater Chorus and Spirit of Thunderheart.

"Nothing beats putting the pieces together for your favorite festival in the world," said Festival Director Jason Samel, "especially when you are celebrating its biggest year yet, the 50/100 anniversary."

He said he hopes to make Pete Seeger proud for his 100th birthday.

"We are super lucky to have Mavis as a headliner," Samel said. "Her message is one which we all need to listen to."

The festival is wheelchair accessible and most stage programming is staffed with American Sign Language interpreters.

The Great Hudson River Revival is produced by nonprofit, member-supported, environmental organization Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Inc.

All proceeds go directly to support Clearwater's environmental education and advocacy, according to organizers.
