Croton Harmon BOE Celebrates District Volunteers

Volunteers from each of the schools, SEPTA and the Booster Club introduced themselves and shared their volunteer experiences.

From Croton-Harmon: At a special June 15 reception and work session, the Croton-Harmon School District’s Board of Education and administration celebrated the dozens of residents who have given back to the district as volunteers.

Attendees enjoyed food, drinks and live music courtesy of Croton-Harmon High School musicians leading up to the recognition ceremony.

Volunteers from each of the schools, SEPTA and the Booster Club introduced themselves and shared their volunteer experiences.

“It’s the hours that you put in just to make sure that kids smile, that a kid has an opportunity to be able to [participate] in sports, [Destination Imagination] – you will never know how valuable you are to our district,” said Board of Education President Iris Bugliosi.

There are many opportunities for volunteering in the district, ranging from joining a PTA, offering professional expertise, aiding school productions or simply helping to shelve books in the libraries.

Each volunteer was mailed a certificate of thanks for their efforts. “I hope this evening has encouraged you to want to continue volunteering in the district and continue to lend us your talents,” said Bugliosi.
