Hudson Valley Man Arrested After 12-Year-Old Gives Birth
He had fled to Mineola, Long Island, prosecutors alleged.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — A Croton man who got a 12-year-old pregnant has been indicted, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Thursday.
Pablo Dure fled to Mineola, Long Island, where he was located and arrested April 9 by Croton-on-Hudson police, according to Scarpino.
Dure, 45, appeared in Westchester County Court before Judge Susan Cacace via video conference on Tuesday. He was arraigned on one count of course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree, a class B violent felony.

The abuse lasted nearly two years, prosecutors alleged. Scarpino said Dure engaged in sexual intercourse on a regular basis with the child between Dec. 1, 2017, and Nov. 1, 2019, when she was between the ages of 10 and 12.
The crime came to light in January 2020 when the girl's mother discovered her 12-year-old was about 33 weeks pregnant.

The girl gave birth to a baby; and, through DNA analysis, its paternity was established, Scarpino said.
The case was investigated by the Special Prosecutions Division with the assistance of the FBI and the Croton Police Department.
Dure's bail was set at $50,000 cash, $250,000 bond, or $250,000 surety with 10 percent. He is scheduled to next appear in court Sept. 9.
Special Prosecutions Assistant District Attorney Jamie Fair is prosecuting the case.
