Croton PTAs To Host Forum For School Board Candidates
Meanwhile, the time period for the submission of nominating petitions has been reopened and extended because one candidate withdrew.
CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — The Croton-Harmon PTAs will host a forum Tuesday for the candidates running for three seats on the Board of Education.
There are now seven candidates on the ballot: Ana Teague, Elizabeth Faber, Omar Mayyasi, Mary Obermeier, Lindsay Mergens, Brian Loges and Jordan Humphrey.
Another candidate, Kathleen Reddy-Guidry, has withdrawn her candidacy, District Clerk Tracey Borges said. Therefore, in accordance with Section 2018(d) of the Education Law, the time period for the submission of nominating petitions for candidates for the Board of Education has been reopened and extended.

Nominating petitions will now be accepted until 5 p.m. May 11 in the Office of the District Clerk. Nominating petitions can be found here.
The forum on May 4 is to provide a means for the Croton-Harmon community to meet and learn about the candidates. It will be moderated by a representative from the League of Women Voters. The event will be held virtually and will be recorded. The forum will be conducted as a question and answer session and will not include any debate.

The agenda will include:
- Candidate introductions (limited to two minutes)
- Moderator directed written question response (two minutes)
- Candidate closing remarks (limited to two minutes)
Croton Harmon School District residents are invited to register early for the forum and submit questions. Questions must be submitted by noon on Monday.

Absentee ballots which include Reddy-Guidry's name have already been mailed to some voters. If you have already returned your absentee ballot, you may request a new one. If any new candidates are added to the ballot after the extended time period for the submission of nominating petitions, a revised absentee ballot will be sent to all eligible voters who requested one.
