SATURDAY, FEB. 9

EagleFest on the Hudson – 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Croton Point Park, Croton Point Avenue, Croton-on-Hudson – (914) 862-52297 Exhibits, live birds of prey, and eagle-walks, along with food vendors and kids' activities. Admission fees. Snow date: 2/10. Info and tickets at teatown.org.

Volunteer Corps Work Day – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary, Playland Park, Rye – (914) 967-8720. Help with invasive vine cutting, trail work, beach clean-up, and more. Weather permitting.

Family Maple Syrup Tapping – 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Routes 35 and 121 South, Cross River -- (914) 864-7322. Bring your family or a group of friends to learn the ins and outs of maple sugaring. This is a one-on-one event and times must be reserved in advance. Fee is $50 per group and includes tapping experience, a souvenir photo/frame, and a bottle of maple syrup (once the season has ended).

Valentine’s Day Story and Craft – 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Muscoot Farm, Route 100, Somers – (914) 864-7282. A reading of Pete the Cat: Valentine’s Day is Cool, followed by a craft. Space is limited; registration is required at (914) 864-7286.

Volunteer Work Project: Removing Vegetation from along the Shoreline – 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.Marshlands Conservancy, Boston Post Road, Rye – (914) 835-4466. Great for any type of service credit hours. Please bring work gloves. All hand tools will be provided.

Winter Crafts – 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Cranberry Lake Preserve, Old Orchard Street, North White Plains – (914) 428-1005. Come in from the cold and make some winter crafts. Registration required by 2/1.

Opening Reception for “A Different Point of View” Art Exhibit – 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Marshlands Conservancy, Boston Post Road, Rye – (914) 835-4466. Celebrate artwork inspired by Marshlands Conservancy. Refreshments served courtesy of the Friends of Marshlands.
