Early Home, Macy's Parade: Metro-North Thanksgiving Trains
Black Friday also gets special treatment from Metro-North for folks headed into New York City for shopping and gawking.

Metro-North has published its special Thanksgiving Holiday Timetable and it is, as they said, "stuffed with sweet customer service" from Nov. 27 to Dec. 1. First, on Thanksgiving Eve, there are 18 early getaway trains scheduled.
The getaway trains will begin departing Grand Central Terminal at around 1 p.m. Nov. 27. That's good whether you're just trying to get home to friends and family or starting a trip out of town. (Drivers remember: Congestion Not The Only Problem For Thanksgiving Travelers.)
Just don't get caught in town — remember, later evening trains may be cancelled or combined because of reduced ridership.

Then there's Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28. Metro-North will operate an enhanced Sunday schedule with additional inbound trains and extra cars for everyone heading to the 9 a.m. Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The agency also promises plenty of outbound trains to get parade-goers from the Hudson Valley home.

For the rest of the holiday weekend: On the day after Thanksgiving, AKA Black Friday, Metro-North plans what it calls an "enhanced Saturday schedule." This means additional inbound trains in the morning and outbound trains in the evening. On Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, Metro-North will provide regular weekend schedules with additional capacity on trains.
Off-peak fares are in effect for the entire four-day holiday period Thursday through Sunday.
Also, Metro-North reminds riders to take advantage of free parking at many local stations.
All the details are on the Holiday Timetable which is available in Grand Central and at local stations. You can also find train times on the schedules page or on the TrainTime App, and on the New.MTA.info app and website.
