Elect Jeff Gasbarro for Ossining Town Justice
Kaja Gam: "Jeff has the character, discipline and knowledge to become the judge we need in Ossining. Now."
It takes many qualities to wear the mantle of a judge, no matter the level: Town, County, State or Federal. A judge should inherently possess honesty, accountability, impartiality, fairness and above all, unbiased judgement for all, regardless of race, economic status or religion. With Jeff Gasbarro we will get it all--and then some.
I first met Jeff on the Downtown Revitalization Working Committee. Later, both of us became members of the Village of Ossining Architectural Review and Planning Board. During those two years, I experienced Jeff’s breadth and depth of knowledge of local and municipal law as well as land use laws. He had a deep understanding of the laws--how they interact, how they could and have been interpreted in previous cases. His ability to sum up these very complex and at times conflicting decisions of the past to bring a current case to its best conclusion for the benefit of the community was impressive.
Jeff came well prepared to all meetings. He listened to all input from applicants, other board members, and community attendants with respectful attention, even though the debate sometimes got heated and remarks wandered far off topic. Never have I experienced Jeff to lose his compassionate and calm demeanor.

Now more than ever, decisions made at the local level can point to decisions a person might make in a higher court. From housing policies to traffic violations, the way our judges act in the courtroom and rule in each case is more revealing about where we are as a community than any welcome signs at the gateways.
I want a judge who understands that and who lives it. A person who has made not only a concerted effort to become part of our community from the day he set foot here, but who has become part of redefining and re-building Ossining. The commitment Jeff Gasbarro has put into Ossining so far, while raising two small sons with his wife Claire, shows his engagement with the community in an impressive way.
