The Village of Croton-on-Hudson is accepting applications for the position of Village Treasurer until April 16, 2021 with an anticipated start date of mid-June 2021.

Applicants are required to have a four-year degree from an accredited college or university; preferably in Accounting and/or related field. Municipal finance experience preferred. Responsibilities include budget preparation and oversight, bank reconciliations, journal entries, long-term financial planning and investments, working with the Village’s outside audit firm for annual audit, as well as coordination and supervision of payroll, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash receipts. The applicant should have knowledge of accounting software (MUNIS), be familiar with GASB and NYS Comptroller’s requirements and practices, and have demonstrated abilities in a team environment, and excellent leadership and communication skills. Salary is based on experience and qualifications.

The Village is located in Westchester County, 40 miles north of New York City along the Hudson River, with easy commuter access by rail. The Croton-Harmon Train Station, the largest train station in Westchester County, servicing Metro-North and Amtrak, is located in the Village.

The Village government consists of a five-member Board of Trustees which includes the Mayor, and a staff of 87 full-time employees, with a budget of $19M. Croton is a full-service municipality including water, sewer, sanitation, recreation, police and volunteer fire and EMS departments.
