Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers Offer Monthly Tours

While the days are starting to get slightly longer, even though Winter is not nearly over, it lulls us into a false sense that Spring is around the corner. The cold, harsh reality is that the cold, harsh Winter has barely begun. However, you can warm your body, heart and spirit by visiting the Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers campus located at 55 Ryder Road, Ossining, NY.

The Seminary, a magnificent building with Chinese architectural influences, is the largest fieldstone structure in the U.S. The entrance, or Rotunda, is warm and welcoming with its gleaming floor made of cobblestones transplanted from the streets of New York City. The main corridor is a tribute to the many Brothers who joined the Society, as well as those Members who lost their lives working in mission and service. The Spellman Room, named for Cardinal Francis Spellman, acts as a welcome center with historical artifacts. Beyond the Spellman Room sits in quiet reverence, Mary, Queen of Apostles Chapel. The beauty of this chapel is breath-taking. Many visitors have commented that they feel transported to a different place and time and just drinking in the architecture brings them peace and solace.

Public tours are being offered on the third Friday of each month at 2:30 pm. They are free of charge. Visitors are encouraged to arrive a bit early to visit our Gift Shop. To attend a tour or for more information, contact Linda Bottos at 914.941-7636 Ext. 2219.
