Firefighters Rescue MTA Staffer Stuck In Train Station Elevator

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — You can't make this stuff up, Croton fire officials said after they rescued one of Metro-North's customer ambassadors from a broken elevator at the Croton-Harmon train station.

The unfortunate employee, whose job is to assist customers with information about train service, found out about the stalling problem Sunday afternoon.

"This incident involved a Metro-North customer ambassador, who was riding an elevator at Croton-Harmon yesterday at about 2:30 p.m. when it became stuck," Metro-North spokesman Aaron Donovan told Patch. "This incident was resolved with the assistance of the Croton Harmon Fire Department and MTA Police at 2:54 p.m. without harm to the Metro-North employee or involvement of any Metro-North customers."
