How Are Conditions Near You? Police Report No Croton Accidents

Though driving out there is reportedly slick and slow on many roads, Croton Police Det. Paul Camillieri said there have been no traffic incidents in the village yet.

The students are home safe after an early dismissal, and police haven't responded to any snow-related accidents as of 2 p.m.

On the other hand, "Saturday was much worse," Camillieri said. Weather took residents by surprise in the afternoon and there "were accidents all over the place."

Camillieri said police responded to a few cars off the road on Saturday afternoon, needed a few towing trucks, and had a few fender benders.

So far so good today, he said, but urged drivers to exercise extreme caution.

Here are some tips from your neighbors on area road conditions:

  • I'm at greenburgh library. Roads are terrible, 287 is bad.
  • Slippery
  • I was just on 119 leaving stop and shop and (I have a Pilot) and almost lost control on the turn...the roads are slick! And I love driving in the snow! Plows are out...just take it SLOW!
  • Spin outs on the southbound Taconic! Go very slow
  • Just came down the Saw Mill from Mount Kisco, slow going, but manageable. Slow and steady wins the race.
