Up to 10,000 people are feared dead in the central Philippines following what officials are calling one of the most powerful storms ever recorded.Â
According to the Huffington Post, Typhoon Haiyan destroyed about 70-80 percent of structures in its path on Friday in a region 325 miles south of Manila. Huge waves swept away coastal villages and devastated on of the main cities in the region. The typhoon, which weakened after its initial impact in the Philippines, is expected to blow into Vietnam on Sunday.
