Hudson Valley Forecast: A Little Snow Plus Rollercoaster Temps

The thermometer and barometer will be doing that pre-spring thing.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Most of the precipitation headed to the region this week will fall in the form of rain, though not before Orange and Ulster counties have accumulated about an inch of snow, sleet and freezing rain overnight into Saturday.

Elsewhere in the Hudson Valley, some snow overnight is possible, but it will turn into rain.

"Perhaps a more widespread travel problem, in addition to mainly wet roads will be the potential for areas of dense fog," said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist. "Fog is likely to form in this situation due to mild, moist air passing over a cold ground and snow cover."

Snow flurries are also possible Monday. Then, after a sunny Tuesday, clouds will return with rain possible Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Temperatures will do that pre-spring thing, swinging widely from the 40s over the weekend, up to 50 on Monday, plummeting to the 30s on Tuesday as a cold front comes through, and then returning us back to the 40s. And rain: possible Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
