Hudson Valley Forecast: Snow With An Ice Glaze
The region is under winter storm advisories and hazardous outlooks. Here's when it will start.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A winter storm is expected to bring ice and snow to the Hudson Valley for close to 24 hours starting Tuesday morning, and the National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories across the region.
The storm will move in from the southwest around sunrise Tuesday, making roads slippery for the morning commute in part of the region. The advisory for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties is in effect from 7 a.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Snow should start falling several hours later in Dutchess and Ulster counties, where the winter weather advisory is in effect from noon Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The storm is weakening as it approaches, and that may change the outcome.
"The details will determine if some of us could end up on the higher end of that range," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.
It's a big storm, leaving "accumulating snowfall along a 1,500-mile-long stretch of the central and eastern United States," said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.
