HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The wind will die down, that's the best you can say for Tuesday. Oh, and overnight temps will be higher, in the mid-30s.

But that's because it may well be snowing. Across the Hudson Valley we have a chance of snow, snow and sleet, or freezing rain, snow and sleet.

Things could be worse, according to the folks at Hudson Valley Weather. If it weren't for all the arctic air, Tuesday's storm system wouldn't be mostly passing to our south. Alex Marra and Bill Potter think we'll mostly be limited to some wet snow showers.

On Tuesday, that is. We have another chance at snow on Thursday, they said, though that will probably pass to our north, "meaning a cold rain in the Hudson Valley… that could end as snow."

When, you may well ask, will those glorious balmy temperatures return? They are, in fact, in sight, but you have to look to next week.
