Hudson Valley Spring Rollercoaster Continues: Hazardous Outlook

Thunderstorms and temperature swings from warm to whaaa?: Here are the latest details.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With spring swinging wildly back and forth, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the mid-Hudson region for Monday. Then temperatures will soar from spring-like to warm on Tuesday before plummeting once again.

The hazardous outlook affects Dutchess and Ulster counties, where the NWS predicts isolated non-severe thunderstorms are expected Monday afternoon with locally heavy rain and lightning.

Above-average temps will fill the region Tuesday, and southern Westchester and Rockland counties could even see 70 degrees.

That sets up a 30-point drop for Wednesday — after showers and a chance of thunderstorms as a cold front rattles in. Wednesday and Thursday nights, lows will not get out of the 30s. Highs on Thursday will hang out in the 40s.

"Another wintry blast is set to drag temperatures down in the Northeast yet again," said AccuWeather meteorologist Jessica Storm.
