Ice Storms Descend On The Hudson Valley
Hazardous outlooks and winter storm advisories have proliferated. Here's when they'll end.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Hazardous outlooks have proliferated as the storms that have wreaked havoc from Texas to the Midwest descend on the region, bringing mostly freezing rain to the Hudson Valley.
Orange County: An ice storm warning has been issued. First, on Monday freezing rain is expected with ice accumulations of a light glaze. Monday evening into Tuesday morning, significant icing expected, with ice accumulations up to three-tenths of an inch.
Travel is strongly discouraged Monday night and Tuesday morning. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.

Dutchess and Ulster counties: The storm advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday. Mixed precipitation is expected with total snow and sleet accumulations of one to two inches and flat ice accumulations of up to two-tenths of an inch. Downed tree limbs and power lines are possible leading to some isolated power outages.
Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester: The storm advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday. Freezing rain expected. Ice accumulations of up to two-tenths of an inch.

Southern Westchester County: Freezing rain expected. Ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch. The storm advisory is in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
