Dear Editor,

I am writing to tell you why Katherin Crossling has my vote for reelection to the Ossining School Board.

Katherin is down to earth empathic person devoted to the success of Ossining’s youth. She has volunteered hundreds of hours outside of her role as a Trustee on the Board of Education to ensure that all students in Ossining have extraordinary enrichment, opportunity and resources. I have volunteered with her at Ossining Destination Imagination tournaments and Saturday Academy Explore and Learn sessions where I have seen her unique brand of magic at work. I have witnessed her genuinely and humbly connect with many families. Her support for community initiatives is limitless. She is the person who wants everyone to succeed and she will genuinely elevate others to set them up for success.

Katherin can also be determined and fierce when necessary. I have joined her during many Ossining For Fair Funding events over the past four years. She has used critical thinking and persuasive abilities honed during her fifteen year legal career to articulate the struggles endured by Ossining due to decisions made in Albany. She found a way to deliver powerful remarks to our representatives that helped them become empathetic to our plight of being unfairly funded for many years. She was strategic in her mission working seamlessly with lobbyists, PR reps, school administration, fellow Trustees, advocacy groups and community stakeholders. Most importantly, with the help of many, Ossining was successful. During her first term on the Board Ossining received the single largest year to year increase in State Aid and has secured a commitment to be fully funded by 2023/2024. This record speaks for itself and I can think of no better candidate for re-election to the Ossining Board of Education.

Sincerely,
