Letter to the Editor: Mangiamele For Ossining School Board
The school board-and-budget vote takes place May 18.
Dear Ossining Patch:
I am writing this letter in support of Christine Mangiamele, who is running for trustee on the Ossining School Board. Christine and I became acquainted in the past few years, and I’ve known her to be thoughtful, open-minded and dedicated to her children’s education and the community. As a former teacher, she is passionate about learning, and understands the challenges teachers face. As a parent, she understands their concerns and cares deeply not only about the quality of education in our district, but the importance of taking into account other issues, including the mental well-being of our town’s youth.
Christine was raised in Syracuse, and has taught students K-8 in New York public schools in Dutchess County, and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the SUNY system. Her graduate degree is in Humanistic & Multicultural Education.

Christine also had leadership roles in professional organizations like NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) and DCMEA (Dutchess County Music Educators’ Association), and earned the Arlington Education Foundation award twice.
She and her husband Evan moved to the Village of Ossining in 2007, and her two children are students in the district. Christine has participated in the PTA; volunteered at school events and participated in the Ossining for Fair Funding campaign. Christine cares about our community, the Ossining School District, our educators and our children. She definitely has my vote.
