More Severe Storms Could Cross The Hudson Valley
With temps in the high 90s and high humidity too, heat advisories remain in effect.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Heat advisories and hazardous outlooks have been issued for most of the region by the National Weather Service.
Heat index values could get up to 101 degrees in Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. The heat advisory is in effect up to 8 p.m.
A heat advisory is in effect in Dutchess and Ulster counties until 7 p.m. It warns of heat index values of 95 to 100.

Flash flooding is possible late Thursday through Friday evening.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.
