Obituary: Barbara Klapkowski Of Ossining
A longtime member of the village of Ossining Planning Board, she served as it chairwoman for more than 10 years.

Barbara Klapkowski, 88, a longtime resident of Ossining, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Barbara was born in New York City on April 2, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Josephine (Nichols) Glocksen.
Barbara was a parishioner of St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining was an active volunteer for many years with the St. Augustine’s Festival, where she ran the “White Elephant”. She was also a former member of the Columbiettes.

Barbara was a member of the Village of Ossining Planning Board and served with the board for 35 years, and served as the Chairwoman for over 10 years.
Barbara is survived by her two sons Richard (Lisa Bradley) and John; four grandchildren Devon, Joseph III, Kathryn and Christopher; her daughter in law Mary Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Sr., and her son Joseph Jr.

Visiting hours will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00–7:00 pm at Dorsey Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:45 am at St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining. The interment will follow the mass at St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Ossining.
