Obituary: Janice Edelmann Carpenter, OVAC Life Member

Janice Edelmann Carpenter, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC.

Janice was born June 18, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Herbert Edelmann and the late Elizabeth Maxwell Edelmann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Diana Saltalamacchia in 2019.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling and golf as well as gardening on the rural property in Clayton. Janice had been an active member of the Ossining (NY) Volunteer Ambulance Corps (OVAC) for 14 years retiring as a Lifetime Member before moving to North Carolina.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, David W. Carpenter, Sr.; three children, Deborah Stafford of Paterson NY, Donna Carpenter and David W. Carpenter, Jr., both of Clayton, NC; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 1 brother.
