Obituary: Ralph John Fiore Sr., 86

Ralph John Fiore Sr., formerly of Ossining, passed away at age 86 on June 20 in Delaware surrounded by family.

He was born on April 7 in Ossining to Bernardo and Mary Fiore. He graduated from Ossining High School in 1944 and joined the U.S. Navy the following year, where he served aboard the U.S.S. Midway CV-41.

After an honorable discharged in 1949, he began working in the mushroom industry with his father and later established his own business R.J. Fiore Mushroom Company in Pennsylvania. 

Upon his retirement from the mushroom business, he worked for the State of Delaware as a security officer for the Governor Bacon Health Center. He later retired to Vero Beach, Florida. 

He is survived by his wife Virginia; children Gina and Ralph Jr.; his grandchildren Hunter and River; his step family, Jerri and Tom, Mark and Tanya, Barbara and Brian, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild; his sisters Ann and Carol; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
