OSSINING, NY — The Ossining community is celebrating one of their own — Ossining High School graduate Obi Toppin, who was grabbed early in the 2020 NBA Draft Wednesday night by the New York Knicks.

Named National Player of the Year in the spring, ranked No. 1 in Sports Illustrated's list of Top 50 College Basketball Players, Toppin was, as the University of Dayton put it, "the only player in the country who averaged 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and shot over 60% from the field."

Now he's headed back to New York.
