Ossining Celebrates First-Round NBA Draft Pick Obi Toppin
The Ossining High School grad had a fantastic spring playing for Dayton and now he's coming home to New York.

OSSINING, NY — The Ossining community is celebrating one of their own — Ossining High School graduate Obi Toppin, who was grabbed early in the 2020 NBA Draft Wednesday night by the New York Knicks.
Named National Player of the Year in the spring, ranked No. 1 in Sports Illustrated's list of Top 50 College Basketball Players, Toppin was, as the University of Dayton put it, "the only player in the country who averaged 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and shot over 60% from the field."
Now he's headed back to New York.

Here’s a good one: NBA Lottery pick Obi Toppin catching an alley-oop from Ossining team Alan Griffin, likely a future NBA Draft pick. They lost this game by 25 to future Section 1 champion Fox Lane pic.twitter.com/n2FnjxyYhw

And I include this just because it's clever:
Did any NY paper use a "Help us Obi-1, you're our only hope" headline today??? #ObiToppin
