STORRS, CT — Two high school seniors already committed to the University Connecticut women's basketball team have been named to the preseason All-America team by a top scouting service.
MaxPreps announced its preseason All-America team this week.
Megan Walker, a 6-foot-1 wing player from Monacan High School in Richmond, VA, was a consensus first team selection.

Here is what MaxPreps had to say:
"Walker is the consensus No. 1 in the Class of 2017, and for good reason. She has the complete package - size, skill, athleticism - and is a competitor as well. The only thing that's missing is a consistent stroke from 3-point distance, but remember, Maya Moore didn't have that shot coming out of high school either."

Andra Espinoza-Hunter, a 5-foot-10 guard from Ossining High School has been named to the third team.
Here is what MaxPreps had to say:
"Espinoza-Hunter transferred from New Jersey's Blair Academy for her senior year, and she will bring her all-around game to Ossining. She won't dazzle onlookers with fancy moves or long-range 3-point shooting, but she understands the game and uses her size, skill and underrated athleticism to get the job done."
