Police are asking anyone with information about the incident Dec. 30 to give detectives a call.

OSSINING, NY — Ossining police are investigating gunshots midday Dec. 30 near Park School, at Spring Street and Everett Avenue.
Police said they received several calls reporting gunshots. They found bullet casings at the scene.
Some people described seeing a shooter wearing a black jacket or hooded sweat shirt with black sweat pants who may have had a pony tail. They told police a car was involved and described it as a grey Honda sedan with damage to the front passenger tire.

Police found a car matching that description shortly afterward on Route 9 near Geneva Road.
Police said they questioned the driver and three passengers in the Honda and determined that none of them likely fired the shots described in the 911 calls. The operator and an adult passenger were released and two juvenile passengers were turned over to their parents.

"The fact that gunshots were fired in our neighborhood gives cause for concern," police said on Facebook. "That this occurred in broad daylight with seemingly no regard for those driving and walking in the area is even worse. That it happened between a school and park is completely unacceptable."
Police said their initial conclusion is that it was not random, but that those involved were known to one another.
"If you saw this happen or you know anything about this incident, please call our detectives," they said. "Withholding information about violent crime in your neighborhood will only serve to reinforce the idea that this type of behavior is welcome here. You deserve better. Your children and neighbors deserve better."
