Ossining Schools Consider 3 Percent Increase in Budget
The proposed spending plan will be finalized this month and go to voters in May.

The Ossining Board of Education is considering a spending plan proposal from school administrators that is roughly 3 percent higher for 2016-17 than the current budget.
The budget as proposed, which the trustees are still working on, would be below the state-mandated tax cap, said Superintendent Ray Sanchez.

District officials are estimating a proposed tax levy increase of 1.17 percent.
The Board of Education is expected to adopt a final proposal April 19Â to set before voters.

A hearing on the budget will be held on May 10 at 7 p.m. at Ossining High School. The public vote on the budget will be held on May 17.
