Ossining Students Earn Top Awards in County Photo Contest
Three Ossining High School students received top awards in the Greenburgh Library's annual Westchester County Amateur Photo Contest.
Thirteen Ossining High School photography students were selected as finalists and three received top awards in the high school category of the 12th annual Westchester County Amateur Photo Contest.
The competition’s theme this year was A Year of Change: Reflection on Life During a Pandemic.
The Greenburgh Library Guild, which sponsors the contest, awarded Ashly Lopez Martinez first place and $150 for “Trapped Inside.” Daisy Bolger won third place and $50 for “Stranded Behind a Screen.” Isabella Gasperi earned honorable mention for “6 Feet Apart.”

The competition is open to all high school students in Westchester County; there is a separate category for adult amateur photographers. The OHS finalists were Ethan Aramboles; Crismell Avendano; Eoin Carr; Ella Castrillon; Kate Lowenthal; Lucy Roach; Boden Rundbaken; Abigail Sabillion; Michelle See; and Stefan Spaho.
“We are extremely proud of all of our students!” teacher Harry Quiroga said of the work by photographers in his and teacher Ron Whitehead’s classes.

Photographs accepted into the competition will be exhibited virtually on the Greenburgh Public Library’s website through June 15. OHS students' photos are also on SmugMug.
