Plea Deal For 19-Year-Old In Ossining Stabbing Case

The dispute that led to the killing was over an item of clothing, prosecutors said.

OSSINING, NY — Andrew Knight of Ossining pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of 21-year-old Ossining resident Gregory Jackson, Jr., Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, announced Friday.

Supreme Court Justice Barry Warhit accepted the plea to Manslaughter in the First Degree, a class B violent felony.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 12.

On Jan. 28, 2019, Knight met up with Jackson on James Street in the late afternoon, following a dispute over an article of clothing. The two argued. Knight stabbed Jackson with a kitchen knife. Jackson was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. He died from his wounds Feb. 1.

Ossining police arrested Knight a week later in the Bronx.

Knight was indicted by a grand jury in Westchester County on three charges:

  • Murder in the Second Degree, a class A violent felony
  • Manslaughter in the First Degree, a class B violent felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a misdemeanor

In addition to Ossining Police, the DA’s Office worked with the FBI's Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force, Westchester County Police, New York State and New York City (NYPD) Police to investigate the crime.

Deputy District Attorney Christine O’Connor, Chief of the Homicide Division, and Assistant District Attorney Brian Bendish prosecuted the case.
