FRIDAY, OCT. 19

SATURDAY, OCT. 20

Read Wildlife Sanctuary, Playland Park, Rye – (914) 967-8720. Friends of Read Annual Meeting – 11 a.m. – noon. Find out what's been going on, where the challenges and opportunities are, and who the board members are. Share your ideas, learn about the Sanctuary Volunteer Corps. Open to all members. Meeting will be followed by a luncheon.

Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Routes 35 and 121 South, Cross River – (914) 864-7322. Spooky Stories Hike – 1 p.m. What better time of year to learn about the spooky stories of the reservation? Join our naturalist for a hike and tales that will give you goose bumps.

Marshlands Conservancy, Boston Post Road, Rye – (914) 835-4466. Volunteer Work Project – 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Invasive plant removal and training. Bring work gloves; hand tools provided. Great for service credit hours.
