Snow Likely Next Week, Storm Possible In the Hudson Valley

Many are prognosticating about a big snowstorm headed our way for the middle of December.

"Forecasters are closely watching a potential storm next week that could have implications for a big snowfall in parts of the mid-Atlantic, central Appalachians and New England," said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

Not the folks at Hudson Valley Weather.

"If the storm isn’t even on our 5 day forecast range, we’re not going to really give it much credence," they said. "What we will say, is that the jet stream pattern is favorable for a coastal storm in the middle of next week. The exact track is unknown at this time, so anything more than saying we have something to watch for the middle of next week… is just speculation."

• Sunday-Mostly cloudy in the morning, then becoming partly sunny. Highs in the mid 50s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Sunday Night-Mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s.
• Monday-Partly sunny with a 30 percent chance of rain showers. Highs in the mid 40s.
• Monday Night-Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly clear. Lows in the upper 20s.
• Tuesday-Sunny. Highs around 40.
• Tuesday Night-Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 20s.
