Stop & Shop Teams Up with USO to Provide Game Day Snacks to Military Service Members at Camp Smith
Service Members, Who Are Quarantined Off-Base Due to COVID Protocol Will Get to Enjoy the Big Game with Food and Beverages Provided by Stop & Shop
Stop & Shop, working closely with the USO, donated $2000 in snacks & refreshments for the more than 400 service members stationed at Camp Smith in Cortlandt, NY, who are residing in area hotels and motels due to COVID safety protocol.
The donation took place in advance of the Big Game between Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes. The snacks included: chicken wings, store-made flatbread pizzas, chips, pretzels, salsa, popcorn, seltzer, veggie sticks, cookies, and a patriotic Game Day cake.

“Stop & Shop hopes this donation provides well-deserved enjoyment and adds a sense of normalcy to these service members’ lives as they continue their quarantine together, leaving them unable to celebrate the Big Game with their families,” said Stop & Shop spokesperson, Maura O’Brien. “We are pleased to work closely with the USO which is celebrating its 80th anniversary by providing these snacks to our military members as they enjoy the Big Game.”
