From Teatown: In May of 2018, Teatown will celebrate the 27th anniversary of its legendary annual plant sale with PlantFest, an expanded plant sale with farmer’s market appeal that has become a go-to springtime event. More than a dozen local vendors will set up tents amid the perennials, annuals, native wildflowers, herbs and vegetables to feature complementary merchandise and services together in one lovely setting. The proceeds from the sale, which has been an important fundraiser and community event for Teatown since 1991, support Teatown’s environmental education programs and the nearly 1,000 acres that now comprise the largest privately-owned preserve in Westchester County.
Unusual perennials, stunning mixed containers and baskets, unusual native plants and wildflowers (including themed bird and pollinator boxes) and countless varieties of herbs and vegetables offer something for every gardener, whether eager first-timers or serious landscape designers.
This year’s vendors include BeeHive Artisans (gifts), Dancing Spirits Herbs (herbal vinegars), Fable: From Farm to Table (local organic produce), Feed the Birds (bird food & houses), Kerry Goldberg (pottery), Margaret’s Bee Cream (Natural Creams and Candles), Misshapened Bowl (wooden bowls), Nick the Knife (tool sharpening), PLAN it WILD (native habitat kits), Native Arts (native art, minerals and fossils), and Seeds of Design (botanical cards & pillows).
