Volunteer Corps Work Day – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary, Playland Park, Rye – (914) 967-8720. Help with invasive plant removal, trail work, beach clean-up and more. A great way to have fun, get some exercise and give something back to the earth.

Unveiling of War Dog Memorial – 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial, Route 35, Somers – (914) 864-7268. Dedication of new memorial that honors all military canines that have loyally served American soldiers in past and present conflicts. Lasdonpark.org.

MONDAY, JUNE 24
Fourth Monday Bird Walk – 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Croton Point Park, Croton Point Avenue, Croton-on-Hudson – (914) 862-5290. Bring binoculars and join the experts from Saw Mill River Audubon for a hike through the various environments in the park. Meet in the ballfield parking lot.
