$1 Million Lottery Ticket Sold In Pearl River
The ticket-buyer picked up a second prize in the Jan. 16 Powerball drawing, New York lottery officials said.
PEARL RIVER, NY — One second-prize ticket for the Jan. 16 Powerball drawing was sold in Pearl River, New York Lottery officials announced early Sunday morning.
The ticket is worth a guaranteed $1,000,000. It was purchased at Gulf Mart at 202 E. Central Ave., lottery officials said.
No one won the top prize for the Powerball jackpot, according to the Associated Press.

The Powerball winning numbers were 67, 20, 65, 14, 39, and the Powerball was 02.
The next Powerball drawing is Wednesday, with the fifth-largest jackpot ever in the United States.

The largest Powerball jackpot in history was $1.586 billion, which was split by winners in California, Florida and Tennessee in January 2016.
To win the Powerball jackpot, a player must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball number. The odds of picking the correct Powerball grand prize numbers are one in 292,201,338, which doesn't change even if more players buy tickets when the jackpot is enormous.
You have a better chance of winning the Powerball jackpot if you let the computer select your numbers, according to lottery officials. About 75 percent of winning tickets over the years had numbers picked by a computer.
The winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The red Power Ball is drawn from a separate field one to of 26. The Powerball drawing is televised every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
