9 Tickets Plus DWI Charge For Rocklander On Palisades Parkway

State police say he was going 101 mph.

ORANGETOWN, NY — A Monsey man faces drunken driving and speeding charges, among others, after police said they caught him speeding on the Palisades Parkway in Orangetown at 11:50 p.m. Sunday.

New York State police said they clocked at a 2020 Honda Civic at 101 mph before trying to stop it. They said the driver tried to elude them, but they were able to stop him on Route 59 at Smith Street in Clarkstown.

Troopers concluded that the driver, Baruch Ungar, 26, was impaired by alcohol. Testing revealed he had a blood alcohol content of 0.13 percent, police said.

In addition to the DWI charge, Ungar was issued nine tickets, including one for speeding 101 mph in a 55 mph zone. He was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Orangetown Court April 20.
