Central Nyack Resident Faces DWI Charge After Garden State Stop
New York state police picked her up Sunday night.
CHESTNUT RIDGE, NY — A Central Nyack resident faces charges of driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on the Garden State Parkway.
New York State police said they stopped a car on the parkway in Chestnut Ridge at 10 p.m. Sept. 22 for a vehicle and traffic violation. They said they concluded the driver, Kiah L. Vanauken, 27, was intoxicated.
She was transported to the state police barracks in Tarrytown where her blood alcohol content was determined to be .21 percent, police alleged.

She was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and vehicle and traffic violations. She was released to a sober third party with appearance tickets returnable to the Village of Chestnut Ridge Court Oct. 23.
