Funeral Mass, Procession For Msgr. Dwyer Is Thursday

TAPPAN, NY — A large crowd of mourners is expected Thursday morning for the funeral Mass for the Rev. Msgr. John Dwyer at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. Road closures and delays are expected in the area after the Mass during the walking procession to the cemetery.

Fr. Dwyer came to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart after retiring from the U.S. Air Force, where he served as chaplain for nearly 20 years and retired as a full colonel. He became chaplain for the Tappan Volunteer Fire Department, which held its service for him at Wednesday.
