Labor Day 2019 Trains, Buses: Rockland County Changes
Here are details about early getaways and holiday schedules.
There are transit schedule changes for Labor Day weekend 2019 in Rockland County, including but not limited to Sept. 2. But before we get to the actual holiday, let's point out what's happening on Friday in preparation for the last long weekend of the summer.
First, there will be early getaway trips on the Coach USA Rockland Coaches and Express. Also, NJ Transit will add an early train and eliminate a later train on the Pascack Valley line. The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will make an extra early afternoon trip and eliminate a later one. Here are the details:
Friday, Aug. 30

- TOR and TRIPS buses will operate regular Weekday service.
- Hudson Link buses will operate Regular service.
- Coach USA Rockland Coaches bus routes from Manhattan to Rockland will operate regular weekday service plus Early Getaway trips on Express routes. Route 45 will depart at 2 p.m., Route 47 at 2:30 p.m. and Route 49 at 2:30 p.m.
- Coach USA Express (Shortline) bus service from the Exit 14 Park & Ride lot will operate a modified schedule in the morning and in the afternoon. Early getaway afternoon buses from Manhattan will be added at 2:32 p.m. and 3:02 p.m. from 51st & 5th Ave. and at 2:30 p.m. from Wall Street.
- NJ TRANSIT’s (NJT’s) Main/Bergen Line will operate regular Friday service.
- NJT’s Pascack Valley Line will add an extra train to Rockland County departing from Hoboken at 2:58 p.m. and from Penn Station at 2:51 p.m. The train that normally departs Hoboken at 5:58 p.m. and Penn Station at 5:51 p.m. will not operate.
- Metro-North’s Port Jervis Line will operate regular service to Rockland stations.
- Metro-North’s Hudson Line will operate an early getaway train departing Grand Central Terminal at 3:11 p.m. A regular 5:57 p.m. departure from Grand Central will be delayed until 6:00 p.m.
- The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will operate an early afternoon trip from Ossining at 4:01 p.m., connecting with Metro-North Hudson Line trains departing Grand Central at 2:51 and 3:11 p.m. The 7:17 p.m. ferry from Ossining will not operate.
Saturday, Aug. 31
Transport of Rockland (TOR) bus routes will operate Saturday schedules on Routes 59, 91, 92, 93, 94 and Loop 3; Regular service on Loop 1 and Loop 2; No service on routes #95 and 97. Monday, Sept. 2
- Rockland County’s TOR buses will operate Saturday service on Routes 59, 91, 92, 93, 94 and Loop 3; No service on 95 and 97. TOR Loop 1 and Loop 2 will operate Regular Weekday schedules.
- TRIPS paratransit buses will operate ADA service only.
- Hudson Link buses will operate Weekend service.
- Coach USA’s Rockland Coaches will operate Sunday service on local bus routes 9, 9W, 11-A and 20. Commuter express routes 45, 47 and 49 will not operate.
- Coach USA’s Shortline buses and Monsey Trails buses will operate Holiday schedules.
- Clarkstown Mini Trans and Coach USA Express (Exit 14 Park & Ride) buses will not operate.
- Saddle River Tours/AmeriBus Route 11-C will operate Sunday schedules.
- The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will not operate.
- Metro-North’s Hudson Line and Port Jervis Line trains will operate Sunday schedules.
- NJ TRANSIT trains will operate Weekend schedules on the Main/Bergen Line and on the Pascack Valley Line.
