Memorial Service May 29 for Harold S. Fredericks

Mr. Fredericks died May 12.

Harold S. Fredericks of Pearl River, NY died on May 12, 2015.

He was born in 1913 the son of Clara and Harry Fredericks of Oak Ridge, NJ. He graduated from Newark College of Engineering as a Mechanical Engineer.

He came to Rockland County in 1940 and worked for the Fibre Conduit Company at Orangeburg. The Orangeburg plant was defense- essential during World War II. He worked forty years as a Draftsman and Mechanical Engineer.

Harold was active many years in the Pearl River Methodist Church, and later in the Gracepoint Gospel Fellowship in New City. He enjoyed outdoor activities; hiking, biking, camping, and canoeing. He was active in the Boy Scouting for sixty years. After retiring, Harold drove a school van and took up writing. He wrote about early memories, family history, articles for historical societies, and several stories for railroad fan publications.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Judith Brown (David), son Donald (Christine), 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on May 29, 2015 at 7 pm Gracepoint Church, New Hempstead Rd. New City, NY. Burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery at Princetown, NY. Saturday June 6, 2015 at 2 pm.
