NJ Man With 2018 DWI Conviction Charged With DWI In Pearl River

Orangetown police said he passed a red light.

PEARL RIVER, NY — A New Jersey resident with a conviction from 2018 for driving while intoxicated in New York was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Pearl River, Orangetown police said.

Raymond M. Boccellari, 35, was stopped on East Central Avenue in Pearl River at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 4 after an officer said he saw the driver of a 2002 Jeep go through a red light. When the officer checked, he found that Boccellari's right to drive in New York was revoked. He has a prior conviction in New York County for DWI, police said.

The Dumont, New Jersey resident was charged with felony DWI, felony unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and circumvention of an interlock device, a misdemeanor. He was released without bail. He is due back in Orangetown town court Jan. 21.
