The victim left her car running while she ran into the Stop & Shop, and when she came out — it was gone, police said.
ORANGEBURG, NY — A woman who left her car running while she ran into the Stop & Shop on Route 303 in September came back out to find it gone. She reported the theft to Orangetown police, who put an alarm out about the vehicle.
A month later, a Jersey City, New Jersey police officer saw the car and arrested the five people inside. The driver was Joshua Gonzalez of Hoboken.
On Wednesday, Orangetown police charged Gonzalez with grand larceny. He was arraigned in Orangetown Justice Court and sent to the Rockland County jail.
