PEARL RIVER, NY — O&R continues to repair storm damage and restore electric service today to the more than 7,000 customers whose power was knocked out by high winds and heavy rains from the remnants of Tropical Storm Zeta.

O&R officials said that since 6 p.m. Thursday, crews had restored electric service to about 7,000 customers whose power was knocked out by storm activity, and was working on restoring service to about 280 more in eight locations.

Outages could still occur due to the second storm bringing snow, officials said. The forecast for Friday calls for continued rain, and snow, perhaps an inch, with winds sustained 10-25 mph, gusting to 30 mph. O&R’s full complement of company and contractor overhead line technicians and tree removal experts are ready to expedite system repairs and electric service restoration as needed for customers whose power has been or could be knocked out today by the gusty winds and precipitation still pummeling the region.
