Orange and Rockland to Welcome New Customer Service V.P.

Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. has named Christina Ho, a 15-year Con Edison veteran, to the post of Vice President of Customer Service.

From Orange and Rockland Utilities: Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. has named Christina Ho, a 15-year Con Edison veteran, to the post of Vice President – Customer Service.

In her new position, Ho will lead O&R’s Customer Service, Meter Operations, New Business, Energy Services, Customer Service Business Systems and Support departments.

O&R President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Cawley said, “Christina is an effective leader, a strong organizer and a talented manager. Her innovative thinking, sharp customer focus and superb team-building skills will be incredibly valuable in her new position.”

She succeeds Edwin Ortiz, who has retired after nearly nine years with O&R and 33 years with O&R’s sister utility Consolidated Edison of New York. Both companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of Consolidated Edison, Inc.

Cawley said, “During his long, distinguished career, Ed has exemplified the best of the company. We will miss his sage advice and sound judgment, and we wish him the very best in retirement.”

As O&R’s Vice President – Customer Service, Ortiz’ mission was to make it easier for O&R customers to do business with the company. He championed customer-focused decision-making processes and stronger customer communication functions, including improved telephone systems and the introduction of the mobile app. He also took the lead in O&R’s drive to install smart meters throughout its service area. That installation is scheduled to begin in late July.

Since joining Con Edison as a management associate in 2002, Christina Ho has assumed a variety of duties with increasingly greater responsibility in central engineering, system and transmission operations and steam operations. She most recently served as the general manager of steam services within Steam Operations.

Ho holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in chemical engineering from Cooper Union and a Master’s of Science degree in environmental engineering from Columbia University. She has completed many advanced leadership training courses, including Con Edison’s rigorous Business Academy program.

She is currently co-vice chair of the board for the Museum of Chinese in America. She also has volunteered with the Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson. She has served as an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB).

Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc., one of the nation’s largest investor-owned energy companies. O&R is a regulated utility that provides electric service to approximately 300,000 customers in southeastern New York State (where its franchise name is Orange & Rockland) and northern New Jersey (where it’s Rockland Electric Company) and natural gas service to approximately 130,000 customers in New York.
