PEARL RIVER, NY — The Pearl River community is mourning the death of resident Kelly Mazzarella, who died Friday of the coronavirus. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the family.

Friend and campaign organizer Nicole Maursky said Mazzarella fought "a long battle with lupus and a short battle against COVID-19" and had been in and out of work for six months. She was a nurse.

"Anyone who knew Kelly knows that she lived life with a love and light stronger and brighter than humanly possible," Maursky said.
