The Pearl River School District Board of Education approved the 2014-15 district calendar, complete with six planned make-up days, during its meeting last week.
Pearl River Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Sue Wheeler wrote a letter with a copy of the calendar. It is available online here. Classes will begin Sept. 3, 2014, with a Superintendent's conference day Sept. 2.Â
The letter restates the district's commitment to 181 days for students. This includes setting six possible vacation days as make-up dates in case of emergency closings. For each day lost due to snow and other closings, school will be in session one of the make-up dates. They are used in a set order as follows:
- Day 1 - April 8, 2015
- Day 2 - April 7, 2015
- Day 3 - May 20, 2015
- Day 4 - May 21, 2015
- Day 5 - May 26, 2015
- Day 6 - May 22, 2015
